An ode to a doyen of value-based education

To learn from the life of Dr Stya Paul, Founder Chairman, Apeejay Stya Group and Apeejay Education Society, Apeejay Institute of Management and Engineering Technical Campus (AIMETC), Jalandhar conducted a cultural programme on October 4.

As the day marked his 102nd birth anniversary, the institute underlined the vision and commitment of Dr Stya Paul towards holistic education, and students learnt about the visionary’s illustrious achievements. 

Staying true to the spirit of Apeejay’s motto, ‘Soaring High Is My Nature,’ the celebrations started with a beautiful Bhajan by Mr. Pahulpreet Singh, Faculty School of Information Technology (IT), along with students Kamalpreet Kaur (B Tech. CSE) and Isha Thakur (BCA). Raghav Kapoor, an MBA student sang a melodious mash-up and Snaya, a BBA student enthralled the audience with her beautiful dance performance.

At the event, Dr. Rajesh Bagga, Director, AIMETC congratulated the student winners of ‘Dr. Stya Paul Award for Human Values 2021’ which highlighted their contribution to society by learning from Apeejay’s value-based education. Surbhi Sharma and Shriya Maini of the MBA programme, Manya Wadhera, a BBA student and Vanshika, a B.Tech (CSE) student were the proud recipients of this award. 

In his address, Dr. Bagga said, “Dr Stya Paul throughout his life had been an enterprising person, a strong disciplinarian, and a beacon light who steered the Apeejay movement to its present glory.” He then shared details of Dr Stya Paul’s life story and urged students to work hard, be fearless and stand for truth.

The celebrations concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Rajneesh Arya, Dean, School of Management, AIMETC.
